Best Dressed Bears sewing patterns are designed to fit 15-18 inch teddy bears such as Build a Bear and Bear Factory teddy bears.*

Please remember that all teddy bears are stuffed differently, and measurements can vary widely. Finished garment sizes are included on the pattern listing and inside the pattern itself. If you are using fabric which is special to you e.g. a deceased relative's clothing, we recommend that you make a draft garment first to familiarise yourself with the process and check the finished garment size on your chosen bear.

Best Dressed Bears sewing patterns can also be printed at a reduced scale for smaller teddy bears and many of our customers do this. e.g. for a 12-inch bear, print at 70% scale. Please check the sizing against your bear before making the garment.

Each Best Dressed Bears PDF sewing pattern contains simple step-by-step instructions accompanied by clear photographs as well as a summary of instructions which can be printed out. To inspire you, there is also a gallery of photos, and a full materials guide offering suggestions for repurposing old garments into gorgeous new items. In addition, we also include a suggested cutting layout and a handy ‘envelope front cover image’ which you can print out and glue onto a C5 envelope so you can store your pattern pieces neatly away after use.

Best Dressed Bears patterns and tutorials are designed to print perfectly on your home printer on either US Letter or A4 paper - detailed printing instructions are included in each pattern. You will need a PDF reader (e.g. Adobe Reader) to be able to view and print the file. We recommend printing just the pattern pieces and viewing the tutorial on your computer or tablet. Summary instructions are included in the pattern which can be printed if desired.

While using a sewing machine will make things quicker, it's not always requirement. Some of our customers have successfully sewn our sewing patterns by hand.

Our PDF sewing patterns are available in most countries around the world. However, due to certain restrictions regarding the sale of digital products, there are a few countries where we are unable to sell our patterns directly through our website. If this is the case for you, don't worry - you will be automatically redirected to our Etsy shop where you can still purchase our patterns

Currently, our sewing patterns are only available in English however, we are hoping to offer them in other languages in the future. Some of our customers use Google Translate to translate the instructions into their own language. The Google Translate app allows you to take photos of the instructions and see them in your language.

Best Dressed Bears sewing patterns include clear step by step photographs, so it is possible to complete your project using these.

We do not sell ready-made teddy bear clothes or accept commissions. However, making teddy bear clothes with our sewing patterns is easier than you may think. If you're new to sewing, the Shelby Shorts, Teddington Trousers, Lottie Leggings, or the Kensington Hoodie patterns are perfect patterns for beginners!

No. Each pattern purchased is copyright protected and may only be used by the purchaser. You may not sell, forward, copy, or distribute any Best Dressed Bears sewing pattern either electronically or in printed form. All elements of our sewing patterns and instructions are protected - this includes the pattern itself as well as the words, images, and pattern templates. This is a term of sale which you agree to when you purchase a digital pattern from us.

We are often asked about whether Best Dressed Bears patterns can be used by small, handmade businesses to make items to sell. In short - absolutely! As a small business, we understand the challenges with starting up, and are happy to help support other small, handmade businesses.

If you are considering selling items made from Best Dressed Bears patterns, we ask that you abide by the following terms and conditions:

- Items are not mass-produced in any way. They must be handmade by the individual who purchased the pattern. Mass production, assembly-line construction or production by workers for hire is strictly prohibited. No more than 100 items per year can be sold per pattern.

- Items must only be sold directly to customers. Items must not be sold wholesale to businesses.
