The Pleated Skirt sewing pattern is suitable for confident beginners upwards and is designed to fit 15-18 inch teddy bears, such as Build a Bear and Bear Factory teddy bears. To encourage the upcycling of fabric, this pattern has been designed with two sets of pattern templates; full sized templates for when you have a large piece of fabric available for your project and smaller sized templates for use when recycling your old children's clothes. These smaller templates will ensure that when the pattern pieces are sewn together, the seams will line up correctly e.g., on the side of the skirt.

At Best Dressed Bears, we encourage the upcycling of fabric wherever possible. Gently used lightweight cotton and upcycled old school skirts / pinafores are ideal for this project. Remember to ‘bear’ in mind the size of teddy bear clothes, plain fabrics or fabrics with small patterns/stripes work best.
