The pattern is designed to fit 15-18 inch teddy bears such as 'Build A Bear' and ‘Bear Factory’ bears. Please note that all bears are stuffed differently, and head, waist, chest, and arm measurements can vary significantly. Please see the listing photos for finished garment sizes to check that this pattern is suitable before buying.

Materials & Tools

Fabric – 15 inches width x 31 inches length (38cm width x 78cm length) – if using jersey knit for the collar or
Fabric – 15 inches width x 25 inches length (38cm width x 64cm length) – if using ribbing for the collar
Ribbing for collar (optional) – 12 inches width x 2¼ inches length (30cm width x 5½ cm length)
Matching Thread
Velcro (Hook & Loop Tape) – ½ inch width x 1¼ inch length (1¼ cm width x 3¼ cm length)
2 x ¼ inch buttons
Fray Check or similar (optional if cutting ribbing for the collar)

At Best Dressed Bears, we encourage the upcycling of fabric wherever possible. Gently used jersey knit, rib knit or rib knit, an outgrown polo shirt or t-shirt are ideal for this project. Remember to ‘bear’ in mind the size of teddy bear clothes, plain fabrics or fabrics with small patterns/stripes work best.
